THE PLAN

The band and I are planning on a reasonable record (likely 9 tracks, but we'll see how much funding we get). We'll be working with my friends Glenn and Rich at The Spot Studios in Evergreen, Colorado. They've been gracious enough to let us schedule studio time without any money down. The current plan is to get this album funded by summer and record it in early autumn.

 

From there, we hope to drop a single this year. We'll have a proper single/video release to promote the album closer to the full album release (that date will be TBA). The truth is, in today's music market, you're music is simply a promotion tool. It *is* the main product of a band, but it's not what makes you any money in return. It's essentially a promotion tool to make fans, who in turn will come to see you perform, buy merchandise, and consume your content.

 

Right now, I have a myriad of home recorded singles for YAN YEZ. But I'm not an engineer. I'm not a great mixer. I'm pretty bad at mastering. And I don't have the legitimate gear of a true recording studio. By having access to truly gifted engineers, producers, and studio equipment, we can make a record that gives this project a chance. A chance to tour. A chance to get our music out in the strongest way possible.

 

It gives me a chance at a real career in this, even if it's a small one.

 

The plan is to record the album, shop it to some Indie labels before there's ever a release date set. We'll very likely release in early 2027. We'll have proper visuals, including a music video for the lead single. We'll hopefully be able to pull together a legitimate tour off the success of the recordings.

 

The budget I've set for the campaign ($15,000), if fully funded, covers the recording costs, a small amount of money for marketing, a chunk for help producing the music video, enough to fulfill the rewards (vinyl prints, etc), and some left for the tax burden of raising this much money. If we are overfunded we will be able to potentially record more songs and make an extra video or have more for marketing. All money raised in this campaign will contribute directly to the album recording, rewards fulfillment, marketing/promotion, and related expenses to this campaign.
